Hi, a friend of mine introduced me to your site and now I am hooked! I am looking at renovating my small NYC 5' x 6' bathroom and for the floor and shower floor, I want to use basalt tiles. However, I am finding it difficult to find a tile store that supplies honed basalt 12" square tiles. Has anyone used them and where can I find them locally? Thanks, GahYan

I LOVE this tile! and this is coming from someone who ONLY likes concrete in the bathroom. LOVE!

Maybe a granite counter yard? Just takes a phone call to ask...

Here is a good architectural stone source:

Don't know if they do small amounts such as yours would entail, but you could check. Otherwise, just deal with Bourget Bros.
Don't be afraid to deal with suppliers who are not local -- we got our soapstone and slate from Vermont, our concrete counter from North Carolina, our flooring from ?, our Brazilian glass mosaic tiles from a supplier in Los Angeles... Each was a positive experience. If you really on local sources for things, you won't get what you really want.

I actually found a company in Los Angeles for Basalt Tile and they were wonderful. They shipped all my tile to New York and there pricing wasn't as high as you would expect. They also had some really cool Basalt Mosaics. check them out, Its Imperial Tile & Stone in California and there website address is www.imptile.com

Thank you for the help! I think I'll be dealing with Bourget Bros ... I called and had them send me a sample and they're definitely not as expensive as stonesource in the city.
