Good Questions: Tall Bar Table & Chairs?

9-24-high-table-cb2.jpg

I am looking for an indoor high top table for my dining room. Actually, I would call it a dining alcove since it is really just a small corner of my living room/dining room. I would ideally like a square table and four high chairs or stools for it so that when I do have guests, there is a spot for them to sit. I have been everywhere and can't find anything that is A) stylish, most of my furniture is brown, darker wood so something that matches would be nice. B) affordable, with the economy the way it is, my budget is not as high as I would like it to be. I am sure your readers could offer me several ideas/suggestions. Thanks, Bill

We've always seen multiple examples of this type of seating and arrangements at CB2, Crate & Barrel and IKEA — and all fall in the middle to lower-end of the price spectrum. Does anyone have any other suggestions for Bill?

craigslist. I don't know your style exactly, but assuming you're in NY, here's one in Ft. Greene:

Target has a set of dark brown wooden tall chairs and a round breakfast table where two sides fold down that I like, I cant find it on their website though. Might be discontinued, but its in their stores right now.

I was going to suggest a high dining table from IKEA I got less than a year ago, but it seems they've stopped selling it. It was dark brown and affordable even by IKEA standards.

I have one from Ikea. It is dark brown and bar style and comes with four stools that are made to fit inbetween the legs of the table which is convenient for space. It isn't the MOST stylish but it's simple and not tacky. It can easily be made nicer by a vase with flowers and or a cool funky table cloth.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I always forget about Target having some good stuff. I like the IKEA table too.

I have the one in the middle of the photo from CB2. I think its called the circa high dining table. I just purchased it last week and I absolutely love it. The base and pole is painted metal and the top is wood. I bought similar barstools from ikea. Actually I thought the barstools (69 each) seemed more pricey than the table (149) I always thought a table should cost more. It is small but cute for two. I cant speak for how well it ages.

I got my set from Target. Good quality, fast delivery, found my set on other sites for more money so I knew I got a good price.

In the pic at the top of the page, where can I find the high topper table on the right-side with the end storage. I think that's the exact table I'm looking for pending it seating two on each side, but didn't see it on CB2, Crate&Barrel, or Ikea.

Thanks for your help!
