Good Questions: The Sofa Under Vince's Tooshie?

6-6-sofa.jpgHello AT,

Do you know who makes the sofas that are featured in the movie The Break Up? There are 2 sofas in the condo living room and I'm having a hard time finding the brown leather one.

I think the second sofa, a white upholstered one, is very similar to this one at C&B.

Thanks! Sara

Okay, Sherlock Holmes, where are you???

We say it's the Hennessy from C&B.

in the movie, it's a sleeper sofa, so i think that rules out the Hennessy. maybe it's the Axis?

Any idea where the movie was actually filmed?

That might provide a clue, especially if any part was a Canadian production.

P2, it was filmed entirely in Chicago. :)

Here's another picture of the leather sleeper:

Does anyone recognize the floral rug in this picture? Where's it from?

I love the Petrie, but in that linked photo from the film it looks like it doesn't hold up well (aesthetically) to being sit on. Does anyone own a Petrie? How's it doing?

Although not that same, this seems like a good time to chime in about a great Canadian company that makes simple, inexpensive leather furniture.

They will send swatch samples.

(Unfortunately) I saw the movie last weekend. Noted the Tiki side table from Room and Board (http://tinyurl.com/h6yv7) next to that leather sofa, and West Elm's Interlocking Squares headboard (http://tinyurl.com/f4oul) in the bedroom. I think I like the furniture better than the film.

From the photo, definately NOT the Hennessey, unless (and this is very possible) they switched sofas on us and didn't expect anyone to notice. I haven't seen the movie so I can only go on those two pictures.

Can anyone tell me where that peg board by the front door is from? Or where I could get something like that?

It was by the front door, with drawing and postcards tacked to it.
