Good Questions: This Fabric, Quicker and Cheaper?

12-8-simonii.jpgHello AT,

I found the most beautiful fabric by Romo called Simonii Mineral, their contemporary collection. It's a gorgeous pattern but I can't seem to find a fabric shop who sells them by the yard in NYC. Janovic sells them for $165 per yard but it takes more than two weeks to arrive. can I find this anywhere cheaper without having to wait so long?

Thanks, Naera

Try Interior Designers in your area or contact Romo and ask them for the name of the dealer closest to your location. Beautiful fabric choices. Good Luck.

a little impatient? 2 weeks is not that long. if you really like the fabric, you should just wait for it.

It seems to me if you're willing to pay a high price for fabric, you could pay for express mail. All I see on the web for Roma is that they are a UK company. Is their direct price less than Janovic's?

Try ebay. Search for the brand + name of the design. I have seen a lot of Romo fabric on there, but usually from UK sellers, so it will still take time to ship, but will be cheaper.

Try someone like this:

I agree with Spanishfish... two weeks is NOTHINg in furniture world.y

You found it, you love it, if you can afford it, buy it. Two weeks will pass quickly, whereas you could eat up those same two weeks doing research and then still not have the fabric.

not sure if you've been to reprodepotfabrics.com but this, while not the same, has a similar feel at $18.95 a yard: http://www.reprodepotfabrics.com/albarpop.html

They have lots of really fantastic fabrics.

You'd have to wait a little longer, but Sanderson Fabrics in the UK has a site and ships Romo fabric. Even with the shipping, I think it would come out to be cheaper.

Romo textiles are represented in the Bay Area by DeSousa Hughes Showroom in at the San Francisco Design Center. They sell only to the trade but you can use a purchasing agent to purchase the fabric for you at a much lower mark-up than retail. A good purchasing agent is Just Buy located in the SFDC as well. If the fabric is in stock, it should arrive here within 1 week. Working with design purchasing agents is a really good way to avoid paying retail or having to use a desinger when you just want to buy a few things. Go to www.sfdesigncenter.com for more info.
