Hello AT,
I'm trying to find an on-line source(s) for used picture frames. I struck out with google search. The only ones that are of any interest lead to ebay, and that's another kettle of fish. Any ideas?
Thanks, Philip

Dear Philip,
Just moments after your email come in, this tip came in from Shoshana:
Speaking of art, Angel Street Thrift Shop (17th, between 6-7) has a bunch of frames, both new and old, for sale. I picked up two large simple but gilded wood frames, with glass, for $15 each (perfect for an antique botanical print).
We have also heard of people buying artwork on eBay just for the frames (and remove the art), if that is any interest to you. We know that even the folks who put together the artwork in Ralph Lauren's stores troll eBay for artwork and frames, so though it is a bit tricky, it does pay off.
Anyone else?
eBay can be a great thing... I scored some amazing things on that site, but I've also paid high prices for others... Just won an auction last night and it's going to cost me dearly... not a picture frame though.
Depends on what you need.
I've occasionally found ok stuff at Salvation Army/Goodwill/etc.... Then it's off to the local glazier for some glass.
But we're not talking really nice frames here, by and large.
i recently closed my art gallery and frame shop and i have over a hundred or so used frames, (+ other stuff) some are perfectly fine others are in need of touch up, whatever, they range in size from 5x7's to 30x 40s and i'm selling them cheap

I am trying to find plans for making frames out of wood fence material. I found some of John Wayne at a fleamarket in Houston, Texas but I don't want to take one apart to see how it's made. If anyone knows how they ar made, please let me know. Thanks, Wayne Mahaffey
Hi,
I buy art work in Walmart (just for frames) and remove the art work. You can find really nice variety. Family Dollar stores have nice quality too.

It just so happens that I have a lot of old picture frames that I love, but am moving so need to sell. If you are interested, send me an email and I can send you some photos. I've got a bunch of different styles and sizes, and you can either buy them all or pick just the ones you want! Let me know,
