Good Questions: Vinyl Desk I Saw in Real Simple September Issue?

12-22-louis-ghost-chair.jpgHello AT,

A couple months ago I saw an editorial in Real Simple magazine that featured the Louis Ghost Chair and a matching vinyl desk. I know that the chair is available for purchase through MoMA's website, however, I have no idea where to get the desk. Please help!

Thanks, ms. information

Dear ms. info,

We believe that that was the September issue but we don't have it and would love to see a pic if you have one. That makes things easier.

Without a pic, as far as finding the matching vinyl desk, the place to look would be in places where Kartell furniture is really featured:
Unica Home
Highbrow Furniture
Retro Modern
Hive Modern

Kartell is famous for their contemporary designs in materials such as plastic and vinyl.

Anyone else??

Ooooh. Be careful. These chairs do scratch really badly (visit the bar at the Hudson hotel to see what I mean).

I think I vaguely remember that photo.... was it a white loop with aluminum legs?

I believe the article said that the homeowner had the desk cutstom-made...

I have that issue, Sept 05. It was a made-to-order Plexicraft waterfall table for $714. Here's their website: http://www.plexi-craft.com/

i didn't see the magazine, but if you want a clear acrylic work surface, check out cb2's acrylic console table. it is @ $300 I think.

I'd rather see this chair paired with a white-lacquered Parsons style table as a desk. Or a table "upholstered" in white patent leather.

But that's just me.

It's not just you.

(must build it in 1:24, as it's never happening in full-size with my lifestyle)

Or,if set on a clear desk, get the acrylic console/desk from CB2 or PlexiCraft, but uses the white version of the Starck chair.

Thanks for all the help! I really liked how the room looked in the magazine and couldn't remember where the desk was from. I knew I could count on you guys. Merry X-mas!

A CUPCAKE CARRIER was illustrated in your september issue. I went to Wal-mart and they didn't have it. I also went on their web and nothing there either. Can you please help me in finding this artcle.
Thanx
