Good Questions: What Should I Do With My Clawfoot Tub?

8-13-clawfoot-tub.jpgLiana needs help disposing of her apartment's clawfoot tub: "What should I do with my clawfoot tub? We are removing it this week. If I sell it on eBay I could get like $200. Is there a restoration place that purchases them?
Thanks!"

You could saw off one of the long sides, sand it down, and use the claw bathtub as a couch. Much like Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Oh my lord, don't get rid of that! Too late. Yes, call Moon River Chattel selvedge in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. They will buy it. It's the perfect size for the small bathrooms in 19th-century two-family townhouses in nearby Bushwick. Then I will buy it, as soon as we close on a place to live.

Try giving blackdog salvage in Roanoke, VA a call. I visit there all the time and they have a ton of clawfoot bathtubs.
