Hello AT,
I was wondering if you or any of your readers could tell me ANYTHING about this lamp I picked up about 8 years ago in Brooklyn.
Thanks! Jemma

Ahhhhhh, a vintage ARC LAMP! Manufactured as early as the 1950s, continuing in the '60's and finally the '70s, when they reached the pinnacle of popularity. Usually in chrome, considered very MOD at the time, but still is. I never had one, but I dated guys who had 'em (they were extremely popular in "typical bachelor pads"). SUCH a classic '70s look!
Ah! My parents still have thiers, its chrome and was purchased in 1977.
Judging by the base, I would say this is definitely a knock-off Arco lamp. The genuine article has base made from a 100lb block of carrera marble.
I love the folding chair in the above picture. Can anyone tell me about it?
It's a knock-off of the ARCO lamp
I LOVE the folding chair too! Is it one of those library chairs that converts to a stepladder to retrieve books from bookcases? The lamp does remind me a bit of a Rat Pack or Rock Hudson movie bachelor pad from the middle 60s.
Nice chair!!! I want one.
