Hello AT,
I was wondering if you had the scoop on NYC flea markets - it seems like some have disapeared/relocated. I am looking for a wrought iron window grate - thanks.
Thanks, Edie

The 6th Ave. flea market has moved to Hell's Kitchen. It's now on 39th bet. 9th/10th Ave. There is still an indoor flea market that was part of the 6th Ave. market. I think it's on 26th bet. 6th/7th Ave.
Here's a link to them:

And here's a link to the weekend street fairs (also fun).

For iron window grates you'd do well at salvage places.
Build It Green is one great resource (closed until next weds for repairs) - brownstoner.com lists a bunch of others
Funny you should bring it up - I've been wondering if there are any worthwhile flea markets around the DC/VA area
What size window gate do you need?
I ditched mine as part of my apartment renovation and they're still in the basement of the co-op. yours (or anyone else's)for the taking.
I've been too lazy to get them chained to the local lamppost to create a neighborhood bicycle rack, which is what I was planning to do ...
I have an updated list of flea markets in NYC on my site Here Be Old Things. You can find the exact page here. There are profiles of most of the markets, too.
