Good Questions: Where Can I Find These Lucite Chairs?

6.13chair.jpgHello AT,

Where can I find these chairs? I was at Pink Berry in Manhattan on Saturday and they have chairs that look just like these except with no arms! I love them! Does anyone know where I can find these chairs?

Thanks! Bklyntee

It's the Louis Ghost Chair (Armchair in this case). Conran Shop has it:

ok, you've found the Louis GC, now as for finding a tastier treat than PinkB, try Yolato. the decor's not as posh, but it's way yummier!

If you wanted just clear or opaque white or black, DWR has them.

Let's not forget the designer -- Philippe Starck!

I refuse to go into Pinkberry because it has a sign on the door saying "No Photography".

Puh. Lease.

That's just too gay and too pretentious. Even by Chelsea standards.

Thanks everyone!

Whoa, I had no clue that those chairs would be that expensive!!

Does anyone know of less expensive chairs with the same look? I really like the exact ones they have in Pinkberry! Has anyone seen those?

Patrick (the other one)- That was the first time I've been there...didn't even see that sign! Are they kidding?

Lourdes- I liked Pinkberry's yogurt, but if Yolato's tastes better...where is it?

Yes, does anyone sells these chairs in like the $100 price range? I'm not a venture capitalist.

They're not green, and they're not translucent, but you can buy similar plastic chairs at losts of places:

The last time Kartell (in SoHo) had a big sale, they had Ghost Chairs for around $120 iirc.

BklynTee,

27th & 7th Ave. Fruit's fresher, portions are larger and the owners are super nice.

Enjoy!

Yeah, good luck. I've been looking for Ghost knockoff for the last three years. Where o where are conniving Target marketers when I need them?

There is a guy on eBay who has them for ~$280. I think you have to pay an import fee or something though. Has anyone bought from him?

The armless version you want may be this:

Cassis- those are precisely the chairs that I want! They're pricey though! lol- I can't believe you've been looking for 3 yrs! Man-o-man!!

I should've asked the people at Pinkberry where they got theirs from! Hmm...I'll ask next time I go and let everyone know!

If you feel like trekking out to Secaucus, they had loads of these (at least a few weeks ago) at the DWR outlet. Don't recall the price, but generally 30-40% below the usual (excessive) DWR price

Guess I'll just have to start saving... Funny, Mr. Green. I could pick up a chair like that on the side of the road.

I'm so over this style of chair. It's annoyingly ubiquitous in decorating magazines.

Those chairs were identified in the very first post by -Kellen, eight minutes after the story went live. How come no one noticed that?

Because the first four posts identifying the chairs were all written within four minutes of each other. I think we have a twenty-first century icon here!

Now we are just bitching about the price.

And yes, they are overused to the point of cliche. But I still want one, dammit.

Actually, Lisa, to be picky, -Kellen posted two links, and one link was *not* the chair in question.

But to the others, do you really think these chairs are overused? Or are they just prevalent in design circles, of which we are frequent travelers?

Okay, here's another link:

Other Patrick, I think they are prevalent in design circles and are not overused... yet.

But almost.

I think they are way overused. I also think they are way over-priced for what is essentially a translucent $7.99 lawn chair.

Polycarbonate is not very durable and is highly toxic and environmentally unfriendly.

Other things also seem to be toxic and unfriendly.

I have quite a few of these chairs to sell. They are slightly used so the price would be less than full, of course. They are in good shape. Drop me a line if you are interested.

I of course would be interested (although I only want the original clear transparent arm chairs). How do I get in touch with you?

So, has anyone actually found a good (or any, for that matter) knockoff of the Ghost chair? I'd like to put it in a bathroom, and cannot bring myself to pay $380 for that!

Ikea sells a clear chair for $99. Styling is different but still stylish.
