Dear Katie,

It sucks us in every morning too. ;-) (and sometimes a little later lately as we go through the growing comments and figure out the posts for the day...)

As for your calendar quandry, we think you meand the Pentragram Calendar which comes in two sizes and is featured as one of our Best Products. You can find out all about is here.

Are we right?

Anyone else??

It sounds to me like the Stendig calendar originally designed by Massimo Vignelli. Crate and Barrel used to carry them a few years back, but it's usually hit and miss to find them.

The published has already sold out of 2006 calendars, but I think I found a link (click my name) where they can still be ordered. If you google Stendig calendar, I'm sure you can find more. Good luck!

Yep, that's the Pentagram calendar.
It's their konck-off-- er, *upgrade* to the iconic Stendig wall calendar.

I'm obsessed with this too. Had it over my bed for 3 yrs now! MoMA store online has carried it, as does Mxyplyzyk, 125 Greenwich Ave (near 13th) in NY (212) 989-4300.

PS: 3x3" Post-its work perfectly for making notes and appointments so you don't end up marking up the calendar!

I've been a huge fan of bobsyouruncle's desk calendar as well... http://www.raindogsonline.com/shop.php?pid=1684

DWR sells the Pentagram one during holiday gift season.

be wary of this calendar! it looks great but the original stendig version is a "media calendar"—the first day of the week is MONDAY and not Sunday...this takes some getting use to when looking at the month in the big picture.

i've bought this calendar before and the best part is that you have awesome wrapping paper after the month goes by!

Katie -- since it's probably sold out for the year, why don't you make your own homebrew version on several sheets of 8.5x11 paper? Better yet, you could take it to a copy shop and get them to print out a big poster-sized one for you...

The Conran store has the Stendig calendar in stock.

My parents have been buying me a calendar like that every year from Crate and Barrel. They usually buy it in October. They have had one themselves in the kitchen for at least 13 years.

The Crate & Barrel one is the Stendig version, which alternates between all black with white type and white with black type, all in the same font.

The Pentagram one is red and black on white, with each month/page in a different typeface.

You can buy the calendar at: http://www.stendigcalendar.se
