I am designing a small mosaic for a friend. They want it to look like one of the original NY subway mosaics. I've looked around at tile stores but can't find those exact shades of green, yellow, and blue. Any ideas on where to find similar tiles? Thanks, Raul
Dear Raul, why not go to the source?
1. MTA Arts for Transit office - which commissions the work
2. Grace Baley - who teaches mosaic making at The Transit Museum
3. or look up one of the artists by name, which are usually listed in each station. Anyone else? MGR

this p;ace is over-the-top expensive, but incredibly beautiful stuff:

if not to purchase, the showroom is still worth the visit...
ebay is good place to look. i have been looking there. they have a ton of tiles for mosaics, most of them are glass though and not ceramic. also check out

for glass mosaic tiles.

I was looking at Mosiacartsupplies.com. Their tile started at about $3 a sq ft
www.bisazza.com. is another good one, but it's expensive
