Good Questions: Where Does This Pillow Come From?

10-5-throw.jpgHello AT,

Where can I find this throw pillow?

The sofa is Design Within Reach, but I cannot seem to locate the throw pillow (see larger pic). Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks, Dave

This one goes to the crowd. A shoutout to the one who finds the link. We think it's going to be tough. Solid patterns on pillows like this are not super popular right now. All our regular resources turned up nil. Where IS design*sponge when you need her?

Just spoke with Allison over at Budget Living Magazine, who is doing a special on pillows, and she thinks it might be part of DWR's upcoming line... A call is in to DWR...

It looks like some pillows that I got from The Red Threads, a store that has closed on Orchard Street, but still does online business. Yien, the owner, also does great custom work - she made a great silk beddign set for me.

I think the pillow is made by Bev Hisey, a Canadian textile manufacturer. I thought DWR used several of her pillows on their sofas in that catalog. She makes beautiful stuff, but limited distribution on-line.

Um, I'm no seamstress (seamster?) but that pillow design seems fairly easy to replicate, no?

so, these sorts of pillows aren't that popular now? i personally like it very much, but my guess is it's too boring for a lot of people. i like this sort of thing especially when it's combined w/ beautiful fabric textures like raw silk or whatever.

What appears to be her site:

These cushions must be the right ones. They're just lovely close up. I really like the 'pinhole' ones too.

I also thought it looked like Bev Hisey's work. You can find Bev at www.bevhisey.com. She also has some amazing die-cut pieces.

After reading this post, and checking out bevhsiey.com I was stunned to find her studio is just two blocks from my loft! I've since had the pleasure of meeting with her and the work is absolutely incredible! Excellent quality and she is totally committed to great design. I've been searching for the perfect pillows and her die cut line is truly original product. I'll be making several purchases soon!
