Good Questions: Where Else Can I Find This Planter?

8.15planter.jpgHello AT,

I purchased these retro, grainy, rough-hewn dark wood cube planters at Jamali garden center. The 12 inch cubes are perfect for my office. I want to do the exact same thing at home, but am afraid my windowsills are too small and Jamali doesn't have anything smaller.

Does anyone know who manufactures this planter or has anyone seen it on another website?

Thanks! Jeffrey

Container store has something similar, as part of their new organic office organizing line.

Also, check Smith & Hawken.

hctrees - looks like a coconut. I found a posting at one point of someone who said they found Ikea selling them. I would not count on that being an everyday thing. I have not had any luck, but some people can even get a grocery store coconut to sprout. You can also buy them mail-order already sprouting (some places can be expensive), or if you live in NYC you can go to the plant district and get one for under $20 AND most likely find the planter in one of the neighboring shops.

Just make sure you have a spot that will give it some nice, bright, indirect sunlight. And prepare for when it gets big!

it's a sprouted coconut and they're available right now in the plant district. growing a coconut from the grocery store is quite an undertaking... i've looked into it.

btw, the container store boxes are the perfect wood grain, but, when i remove the top of the box, there will be a lip... so i really can't use that as a planter.

i didn't see a similar planter on artichokes and company's website, so i ordered their catalog.

thanks everyone!!!

any more suggestions!

jeff
