Good Questions: Where Is The Missing Ship Light?

10-26-pod-light.jpgHello AT,

Not too long ago, I saw an article on Isaac Mizrahi's home collection for Target. It included a fabulous "ship light" that I haven't been able to find anywhere (neither online or brick-n-mortar). Do you know where I can find it?

Marco

Marco, This is a stunning lamp and we, too, have had a great deal of trouble tracking down Target's designer products. It is definitely not in the Mizrahi home section. Do any regular Target shoppers have a lead for Marco?

The ship light went on clearance a few weeks ago at the Target near me. They stocked them for most of the summer, but they were unfortunately placed near the shabby chic stuff.

I live in the Midwest, and I noticed that the lamps went on clearance about 2 months ago here. They're long gone now. What a shame--I bought two of them this summer, and I love them and would like to buy a couple more. They are sturdy and adjustable with a nice finish. I especially like the fact that the cord is fabric-covered. Most lamps in this price point don't have that attention to detail.

Hi Maxwell,

I saw an article for these lamps in Better Homes and Gardens last spring (how embarassing-- in BH&G). I kept the ad and searched and searched for them on-line. I contacted Customer Service at the company twice, and nobody could ever tell me where they were and when they would be sold. Then, one day I found them in the Culver City (Los Angeles) Target and I grabbed two of them for both sides of my bed. My home is very "ocean liner deco meets sailboat nautical" so these lamps were perfect. Great knobs and the curved mesh glass cover helps the look.

The issue is the light they cast really sucks. They're bad for mood lighting, and they're really harsh. I started with a high-watt bulb, and now I am using a 40-watt. But when they are off, boy do look nice.

And I recently saw them, too--- on clearance here in LA. They weren't that expensive ($40?) and I am probably going to ditch them by the end of the winter because of the light issue.

I looked for too! I couldn't find it and I really wanted it!

Oh well!

Cheers!

Marco -

The ship light is back at Target. I just saw a couple there yesterday and they weren't marked down so I am assuming they are giving them another shot.

The target near me has a few too, if you still want one let me know & I can send it to you.

Yes, I have seen the lights last week, too-- in the West Hollywood, CA location. Check the Issak Mizrahi aisles, they were not in the lamps section. -- John

All right, they have all vanished. I found one onclearance a few months ago, in terrible shape, and I have searched and searched online to find more of these somewhere, anywhere, but cannot find them. IF anyone should come across any of these, do let me know I am interested. These have to be sold at some clearance outlet at this point or in someones ebay catalogue, but I have not been able to find them.

I have this lamp if someone wants to purchase it. It has not been used but a couple of times to see how it looks. I purchased it at Target in New York state. I have a vast collection of lamps, so that is why it has not been in use.
