Good Questions: Who Can Recommend a Good Upholsterer?

I picked this couch up off the curb last night and I am thinking about doing the refinishing myself. However, I was wondering if the readers of AT could make any recommendations for an upholsterer in the LI/Metro NY area...

I wanted to find someone who would not only upholster but make brand new cushions for this piece? The existing ones stink to high heaven.

Hah! Carol, that was exactly what I was thinking - I'd be wary to recommend any of my upholsterers until this thing checked out for bedbugs, lest my own work at their places be infected! ;)

Joe's Fabric Warehouse on Delancey in the lower east side. They have a huge selection of home furnishings fabrics and the price wasn't horrible. I found it easier to pick out the fabric there and do it all at the same time. Good Luck!
