Good Questions: Who Made This Kooky Chair?

3-12-chair1.jpgHello AT,

I was hoping all you design buffs might be able to help me with some info. I found a pair of the attached chairs with a matching metal table at a flea-market. They are actually not too uncomfortable. Could you tell me who they were made by or when they were made. They are like a cross between metal shop and a philippe starck orange juicer.

Thanks
Melinda

That looks like something from from azcast - sand-cast recycled aluminum furniture - http://azcast.com/

I swear I've sat in chairs very similar to this one-- same back and legs, at least-- in Atlanta. I can't quite place it though. It's driving me nuts. If you have a picture of the table, that might help.

Logan -- Upscale Atlanta restaurant, bright young things in a chic urban bistro environment, "new southern" cuisine, located in the base of a shiny office tower? Those chairs are looking familiar to me, too.

If so, I'm completely befuddled about naming the restaurant, though I know I ate some form of game with a nice beaujolais.

Wende -- Funny, I have them associated with coffee and/or cheap food. I'm trying to put them either in Aurora Coffee in L5P or somewhere on or near the Georgia Tech campus (a few years ago). But I can't quite do it, and Flickr and Google haven't helped any. I remember the weight of the chairs, and that I absolutely disagree with Melinda-- I hated sitting in them.

This deli, Market on the Boulevard, in Cabin John, MD has them in their dining area. They can probably tell you where they got em. http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn?node=cityguide/profile&id=1079119&lat=38.9746000&lon=-77.1621000&displaySearchLocation=

From which flea market did you get this chair? I LOVE it!
