Our first instinct was "Matthew Hilton" but our instinct doesn't seem to be correct. Anyone?

It used to be made by Sitcom Furniture as part of their Stockholm collection - but the natural-oak pieces as well as the cocktail and end tables have been discontinued.

Overstock.com has an "espresso" finish knock off version with a glass top. I haven't seen it in person, and it has a smaller proportioned base, not as nice as the original:

humm... once again something not too hard to do if you know a good carpenter, and find a vintage glass top.

There's a store in San Francisco that carries it (or something very similar), Funky Furniture (www.funkyfurniture.net). I almost bought a bigger version that had two of the jack-like wood shapes underneath instead of just one. It's not on their website but call the owner, Reg, and he'll hook you up. It was only a couple hundred bucks.

Looks like one that the Door Store used to carry in dark brown.

It reminds me of the Bradshaw at Room & Board.

The top's not glass but it's a similar look.

This table is from Urban Outfitters from about 3 years ago! I had one, then broke the glass top.
