Good Questions: Who Makes This Sofa?

12-16-brown-sofa.jpg

This couch was featured in Domino a couple of years ago (it's on their website in one of the paint colour galleries). Does anyone know who makes it and if it is still available? Thank you! Michelle

The arm looks like the loring sofa from room and board. But that sofa doesn't have loose cushions on the back. http://www.roomandboard.com

If it's a couple of years old, it may not be in production anymore. Try Mitchell and Gold, too. It looks like their style. http://www.mgandbw.com/

Isn't that the Loren Sofa that was offered by C&B but discontinued?

If that's what you really want, just take the pic to a local upholsterer and have them create one for you in the exact size you want - A slope armed, t-cushioned, loose pillow-back sofa on exposed legs and upholstered in Brown Velvet shouldn't be tough for them to make...

This one from Room & Board is pretty close:

This one is nice, but not as deep and no slope arm.

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions. The loring is very similar but alas, we don't have Room and Board in Canada. I'll try to check out the upholsterer route. (from Michelle)

Sorry, but this is not scroll from montauk. This sofa's back is aligned with its arms, where as montauk's back is tapered.

I love this sofa too so I'm hoping someone can identify it! :)

Presidio from WS Home is similar, but with a bench cushion and doesn't seem as deep.

I always thought Montauk was out of Montreal?
(And having 4 of their 6 showrooms in Canada, I don't think I am mistaken).

This sofa looks similar to the Tyler at Macys. The Tyler has 2 cushions and is boxier though but check it out anyway

This really does look like the scroll sofa from Montauk; depth, feet, fabric, shape.

As to the angle of the back, tapering that someone commented on, can you really tell that from this photo? This had been adjusted and reworked as all photos are. Light could hide things like that were I think you just can't tell. The only definite way to identify this is to ask Domino, or be happy with approximates.

It sure looks like the Montauk Scroll sofa to me -- the arms look identical, and are the distinguishing feature.

You lucked out Michelle -- a Canadian product after all!

Well, whether it's a match or not, I sure do love the Montauk! And there's a showroom in my city, too! Thanks so much to all for helping to identify. (Now I just have to start saving...)

@ JaneyK - The table is an Eames Plywood Coffee Table. Generally retails for around $800 (ouch!) but there are "reproductions" out there. I've been eying that table as well, sadly it's just not to be!

I know this posting is really old, but I just came across it. It is definitely the "Scroll" sofa by Montauk. It was noted as such in the November 2006 Domino.
