My sofa is from Rowe and I love it. I've had it for nine years and it is still in great condition. When I received it, a couple of the back pillows had gaps in the seams, but they sent me new ones and let me keep the ones that were sewn incorrectly. We use those as floor pillows for when we're watching tv.

What about something like the Love Sac's G2 Sactional? it's a modular couch that you can purchase covers for in a variety of fabrics. We almost bought one of these last year since they are SOOOOOOOO comfy and you're not locked in to one design setup. We ended up buying a tv instead, though :o)

I don't know much about the quality of Rowe but I do know that they used to manufacture the Jonathan Adler furniture line & also owned Storehouse until it went out of business.

Within the past year, my husband and I purchased an L shaped sofa from Bassett furniture and have been quite pleased. We were able to design the perfect couch for us, including corners, type of pillows and if they were attached or not, legs, and we even got to pick our own fabric at no extra cost. We ended up with a couch that seats at least 7 for just under $2500. And the cushions come with a lifetime warranty. I'd look into going this route if I were you.

The quality of Rowe furniture is good. I used to work at Home Elements (before it was Storehouse) and Rowe is the parent company. My parents have a sofa from there that is probably 10 years old now and it is still in great shape.

I would think that the custom service aspect would depend on the distributor more than the manufacturer.

My sofa was purchased at Pottery Barn about 5 years ago, and was manufactured by Rowe. It has held up quite well, the only problem being the cushions have gotten a bit flat. The spring system is eight-way hand tied, and has provided even comfort across the seat. If possible you should really visit a Rowe dealer in person and ask about the construction since the specs might differ from what Pottery Barn was offering. Another line to consider is Norwalk Furniture. They have an excellent reputation and the website will give you links to both their franchise and independent dealers. Only problem might be their prices, but its worth a look.

I purchased the Rowe Eero in brown microsuede. The sectional is a two-piece armless one. It has held up incredibly well. I have two cats that have managed to destroy all upholstered furniture except this one. They have also thrown up on it countless times. Despite all this, it still looks brand new. It is very comfortable and I love it!

I've worked in 2 furniture stores selling Rowe, and I think the quality is mid to high range. Any problems with ordering could be the fault of the store you purchase from, or just a random mistake. Problems can happen, but I don't imagine a shop or Rowe wouldn' take care of any problems. You just always want to inspect a piece before delivering it home. If you pick up one corner of the sofa, the whole sofa should lift off of the floor, not sag at all. Be sure the legs are the right finish and aren't scratched. Look at all seams to be sure there are no holes. And tip the delivery drivers so that if you ever work with the store again, they will be kind to your furniture. Rowe has an excellent warranty. You also may consider getting extra yardage of the fabric for repairs 10 years from now when the fabric is discontinued. But in general, I wouldn't worry about quality with Rowe.

just an addedd comment re: mrkhernan's comment about carter sofas. i have 3 carter sofas, and do consider them to be higher quality than rowe. carter has superior selection of fabrics too.

Crate and Barrel, Mitchell Gold and Room and Board all have L-shaped sectionals in that price range.

I have a beautiful tan L-shaped sofabed that was purchased from Jennifer Convertibles for only 1,500. You should check it out, sometimes they have great deals.

We had a Storehouse Rowe couch for 6 years as basically our primary piece of furniture. It held up extremely well for the price (about $1,000). No worse or better than other mid-range manufaturers, IMO.

The fabric got dirty, but didn't wear, and the frame was tight the day I left it on the curb...

My sofa is Rowe from Storehouse. I thought Rowe went out of business, which is why Storehouse did...that was my understanding. Anyway, I like my sofa a lot.

Ah, okay, Storehouse was acquired by Rowe. Rowe filed for bankruptcy and closed the stores, but apparently is still operating. Honestly, though I am happy with my sofa (which by the way, was the second--the first was damaged), given their recent history, I don't know if I would buy one...
