Options for 100% Silk Tufted Rugs?
Good Questions

10-9-silk-rug.jpg Q: I have fallen in love with the touch, the feel of Ligne Roset's Silk Plush rug — I'm just not in love with the $960/sq meter cost. The rug is machine-tufted 100% pure silk. I feel certain it's possible to find a rug of the same composition for less, but my google searches haven't helped. Any suggestions? These rugs are heaven to touch & don't shed even when pulled a bit. Thanks!

Most of the online rug stores carry silk rugs, too. Dunno if they have the one you're looking for, but it would be worth a try. I think it's rugsUSA.com that I've used before and they had good prices and decent service.

I feel I should point out that the Olefin ones feel like silk and are a LOT cheaper. They hold up well, too. My sis has one that she's dragged with her to camp at the Renaisance Faire for several years now and it still looks and feels new.

They aren't pile/shag, but Home Decorators has a nice collection of silk blend rugs for reasonable prices:
