Henry Thoreau
P.S. We refer to Henry Thoreau without his middle name as that is how he was referred to us in Helen and Scott Nearing's book, The Good Life.

Yeah. Although there seems almost be no time of year that you can't find watermelon these days, if it's not summer, I tend not to eat it.
One word: tomato
Second word:peach
apples...in the fall when they are really fresh and you pick them from the trees. bubbling over in a crisp or apple pie. taking a tractor out to the trees and sitting on bunches of hay while you eat your apple cider doghnut. or if you can't get the tractor/orchard experience, walking around the green market in Union Sq. with a paper cup of steaming hot apple cider, looking at pumpkins and the changing leaves.
Exception - Vodka. It has no season. Thank goodness.
Mmmmm...now I'm thinking apple martini :)
I love fall..I just bought apples at the farmers market the other day and they were SO much tastier than when you just pick them up at the supermarket.
I love this quote. I keep a list of things I love about each season. I added the quote to the top of the page.
This is a variation on a quote from Shakespeare:
At Christmas I no more desire a rose
Than wish a snow in May's new-fangled mirth;
But like of each thing that in season grows.
