Dallas' Joel Hester turns the rusted hoods and trunks of old American cars into functional, striking tables...

His website lists current available inventory, in the form of photographs of the hoods in their raw state, (we're partial to the Lincoln Towncar in copper, hint hint), but each piece is one-of-a-kind, as unique as the car it came from.
As the tables are custom, Joel says, "if you don’t find what you are looking for here, shoot me an email with the colors you desire & i will find it and email you several hoods to choose from within your color range."
These tables start at $850, and are available through Modern Steel Furniture in Dallas, TX.

Thank you!!! I am designing a bar that is roughly themed around cars and this is a perfect solution for the tables!

Huh?
How can anyone tell this was made from a Lincoln or a Hyundai - There's nothing remotely car-like about it anymore.

it's a great idea, and I'm all for recycling, but I wish there was a hint of the car it was. Nothing over the top like a 57 Chevy salad bar, but maybe at least a hood ornament?

Check the website, you'll see one with the hood "ridge" still visible, another with a hood ornament.
