Global Earth Hour March 29

02.01.earth_hour.jpg

Remember the silence the night of the blackout back in 2003? Recreate it and turn off your lights with the rest of the world on March 29 at 8:00pm local time.

Earth Hour is a worldwide act of solidarity in turning off lights as an act of energy conservation. It was inspired by the city of Sydney, Australia, who started a trend of turning off their lights for one hour in a show of support for protecting our environment. It's now spread to a global level, although Chicago is the only US state officially participating in Earth Hour. But check out Earth Hour's website for ways to set up your own local hour of lights-off.

Given the surroundings... Chicago may as well be a state.
