ICFF 2008: Black Wool Collection by Jo Meesters

2008-ICFF-NY.jpgDutch designer Jo Meesters was on hand to show us his Black Wool collection of crocheted textiles. The collection of small rugs and poufs are crocheted from finger-thick strands of black wool yarn — playing with scale and texture in a big way...

The Black Wool textile collection is just one of the designs from Jo Meesters Studio. Many readers will liken the crocheted black wool collection to Christien Meindertsma's knitted Flocks Poufs.

is there a name for that round piece of furniture that is so awesomely hotel-lobbyish? besides the fact that i hate the word "pouf," i thought poufs lacked that central-core backrest thing.

I guess it would be an called ottoman. Dang, I'm gonna half to take out my crotcheting needles and brush the dust off of them.

I spotted this at the show today. When I first saw it it brought back memories of the spare toilet paper roll covers that my Grandmother made!

Does anyone know what are those 'chair-on-chair' pieces in the pic? Look very interesting, please report if you do. Thanks!

I like Christien Meindertsma's better. I'm more fond of knitting over crochet in general anyway.

Want a slightly smaller version knitted cushion made of entirely natural (local) wools? I've got a couple of handknitted cushions available, made with knitted thick roving from local sheep, and stuffed with wool for a springy effect..they were in an art gallery, but now they're available via the web!
