12-17-grcic-tip-4.jpg While we haven't given up on our fascination with all things Tom Dixon, we will expand our obsession to include the work of Konstantin Grcic. The more we learn about the German designer, the more we want to know! His Tip can design from 2003 melds recyclable plastic into a pleasing form full of color...

These are rather refreshing after seeing countless designs of stainless steel flip-top trash cans. Small Tips would be great in a bathroom and we'd use a large one for a laundry hamper. Tip is available in 7L, 15L and 30 Liter sizes. Does anyone know of a U.S. distributor? We were only able to locate European and Asian web retailers. Manufactured by Authentics.

Please... stop mentioning 'recyclable plastic'. As long as it is not post-consumer recycled in the product, it is nothing new.

All thermoplastics are recyclable. But hardly any are. Problems in sorting, dirt, color are only the beginning of obstacles. Loss of quality on reprocessing is another.

Plastics are not glass or metal.
