This is my 2nd summer with the Terrace in Clinton Hill... last year was a learning experiment; watering, placement, plants, etc. The wind can get really strong up there so the plants need to be able to handle it.... [more below]

Is that your neighbors right next to the lounge chair? You should put up a bamboo screen or some lattice of some sort. What about Honey suckle or Passion flower? They climb...and would do well with the sun up there. I love the brick!

Let me guess- Nobody on the CoOp board has a terrace?
All you need are lizards...
That is the neighbors space, but she does not live there. I thought about putting up something, but worry it would make it feel small. For now, it's the cat's way to get away from me! Thought about honey suckle, but I was told it would grow quite fast??
will check it out though!
and yes, of course no one on the board has one! but i think a lot of the rules stems from the previous tenents who abused the spaces.
I love it! Grady makes the pic even better!
Oooh, it's beautiful! Where did the textured white pots on the right in the bottom picture come from?
Very nice. I'm planning out my patio garden...Was wondering the size of your dining table, and how much floor space is used in that section? Do you pull out the table and chairs when entertaining or does the space work comfortably?
Ooooh, I think a nice low box with oat grass would complement your green space nicely, and as an added bonus the cats will probably trim it for you.
You go girl with starting your plants from small shoots! One can tell the wild way they flower as mature plants! Keep it up!

Great start. Love the panorama, too.
Honeysuckle can eventually grow quite large (10-15ft) but starts off slow for the first few years and can be easily trimmed back. It's quite hardy, too, which is importance on a terrace that's open to sun and winds.
Anything mediterranean would do well, too; lavender, rosemary, bay laurel. Keep it up!
Thanks for the info, geralyn!
I agree with Uncle Bubba; oat grass (or wheat grass, my cats' favourite) would look lovely and you'd never have to trim it!
Looks like the terrace is ripe for my nude sunbathing! :-D
Fabulous!
Nothing link a rooftop terrace view. Keep the plants coming! CHH
Breath-Taking view The Garden makes it oh so serene. I agree with the Bamboo screen --it will not look small--but intimate. Can't wait to hang out --Oh and you can get a little patio umbrella and chain it somewhere.
