Name: Janine
Location: Nyon, Switzerland!
Size: 1'8" x 10'6"
Favorite Resource: DIY markets, Ikea and Interio

Pitch:

"Although i'm not at all in the designated 'contest area,' i'd like to share with you my 'mini-balcony-garden'. In fact, my balcony is only 1 foot and 8 inches deep, and 10 feet 6 inches wide. It has a slightly oval shape. I managed to find narrow, foldable wooden chairs (i've bought two) and a fold-up table at IKEA....." [more below]

Already two of my neighbours asked me where i've found the furniture as everybody has the same problem with these small balconies.

I have two boxes of strawberries, two roses, some lavender and three small hanging pots where i change frequently the type of flowers. In another box i'm growing small sunflowers from seeds.

My favourite resources for plants and boxes are DIY markets (here in Switzerland : Jumbo or Hornbach ), concerning furniture and accessories i go to IKEA or Interio.

Enjoy the pics! Janine

Looks like you have some nice trees to look out on as well! Wish my condo had such a space, no matter how small; your's is very nice, reminds me of Paris apartment style, and your plants are flourshing.

Thank you Louise,
indeed, i was lucky when i found this appartment. It's situated off the street which is at limited speed ( 20 km/h ), and the building is surrounded by a big garden. It's like living in the country-side, with birds singing and no traffic noise, but only 10 minutes walk from the town center !
