P.E. Guerin is the oldest decorative hardware firm in the United States, and the only metal foundry in New York City. Started in 1857 by French immigrant Pierre Emmanuel Guerin, the store makes and sells decorative hardware — everything from doorknobs to towel racks, bathtub faucets to drawer pulls — all on the very highest end...
We had known the name Guerin from passing by the building on Jane Street, but had never known what it was about. It is a good New York story. Four generations later, the company remains a family business, now owned and directed by Pierre Emmanuel’s great grandnephew, Andrew F. Ward.

P.E. Guerin is a rare gem. If you own a home and you're looking for beautiful, old-fashioned hardware AND you have the money to make a major investment, this is the place to go.

Do you have any idea how expensive their stuff is? When ordering door hardware to match a client's existing home for an add-on was $1100. per door. Times 10 doors. The distinctive door handles and escutcheons needed to match the rest of the house to help the renovation be as seamless as possible, but when it came time to match the cabinet hardware, we couldn't justify the nearly $8,000 pricetag for knobs and backplates and went elsewhere.
Their work is beautiful and unique to be sure, but out of 99% of people's price ranges.
