2004_12_9_restored.jpgThis just in. The fellow who used to run the Small Furniture Store, Bob Vissichio, is back with a new store, Restoration Antiques, that sells "workaday" restorations and "great stuff." The old store was a great place to find wood great, refinished wood furniture at prices under $1000.

I used to work for Bob at Small Furniture. We all used to re-finish furniture right out on the curbside. He had a big rottweiler that used to wander around named BD (big dog) Bob is a really quirky guy who knows everyone....many people in the furniture biz have worked for him at one time or another (he can tell you who).

(Thanks, Jim!) Note: pic is not from the store, but a guesstimation from the web - MGR

I think that comment deserves some kind of a story or explanation, doesn't it?

I don't know, but the people who work for Bob are crazy and rude (and it takes a LOT for me to consider someone rude in this town), that's all I know. Bob might be fine, but he certainly doesn't choose employees wisely.

I just had an oak rocking chair refinished at Restoration Antiques and I was very pleased with the work. Bob did a fantastic job, it was inexpensive, and I would highly recommend him.

I just had a shelf restored there - not only did Bob do a great job and was totally affordable, he was great fun to talk to. Everything in his shop seemed reasonably priced and everyone was amiable. Great place!
