Carpet tiles, not just for breakfast anymore. This is a nice little find. Carpet tiles that don't scream office and would go well with a groovy Jonathan Adler couch. The orange tiles are commercial grade, called "Glam Tiles," and made by Milliken ($3.85 per sq. foot), and the wood tiles are made from palmwood which is very hard and rich in color ($9.95 per sq. foot). How affordable! Why not just get planks for $6/sq.ft. rather than paying nearly $10? That's crazy.
Has anyone here tried no-glue cork tiles? I'm planning on sound proof insulation underneath (because we have a six year old - not at all phlegmatic - jumper in the house). I've heard cork is soft and warm "underfoot" and good for kitchens too. And the block towers built on them won't crumble as they might on most carpeting.
