Flagstone Floors Inside the Home

Oooh, we sure do like the way flagstone flooring blurs the line between indoors and out. Carry the rustic flooring into a kitchen or living space and the room takes on the feeling of a aged villa or sprawling patio. Here are a few flagstone flooring photos that really rock...

No pictures of Fallingwater? In that space the interior floors are waxed so they match the outside pavers when its rains... gorgeous.

I love the floors in that first shot. That place looks like heaven to me.

I've always loved the idea of having outside stonework on the inside. Call me crazy but it's heavenly!

They do look nice. Personally I would never buy a house with a tile kitchen floor. They echo, they are hard to stand on for extended periods and they are cold. They are durable though.

The floors of my dreams - and they're perfect for radiant heat.

They look nice, but it would be horrible to stand on all day.

I live in a brownstone (rental) where the brick paving from the yard is carried though the interior including the bathroom. I absolutely hate it! It never feels or looks clean no matter how much I clean it and it's infested with ants that have colonies directly under the brick and make their way through the brick and mortar! Before moving in I vowed to never rent a carpeted apartment again, but had no idea I could hate brick floors (and walls) as much as I do now. It's too bad because it's a nice apartment otherwise and when you first see it you think charming (as I did), but to live with it and in it is a completely different story and despite the apartment's other beautiful features. I can't wait to move! I really needed to vent. Sorry.

I lived with flagstone flooring in Ireland. It's fairly common there. It does look lovely, but I found it a bit difficult to clean.
