Narrow Modular Pavers by Stepstone

0722_stepstone1.jpg

Sometimes a new proportion is all that's needed to bring a breath of fresh air into a common material. These pavers by Stepstone Inc. are a fine example...

0722_stepstone2.jpgStepstone's Narrow Modular Pavers are concrete pavers that come in a linear proportion: 4" wide by as much as 24" long. Available in 12 colors, the pavers give the common concrete paver an uncommon look.

Hmmm . . . . I've been planning a wood deck project for September, but after seeing these, I'm beginning to have some strong second thoughts about a deck . . . . I'll need to investigate some more.

Stepstone makes a great product; we use acres (literally) of it in our landscape architectural studio. Be warned, unit cost is quite a bit higher than your typical precast concrete paver. They're worth it though! All of their products are cast upside down to eliminate air pockets and improve the distribution of the aggregates. Stepstone also offers a great range of finishes and colors to choose from. They're even coming out with more and more sizes (up to 12"x40" units) to choose from.

Good stuff.
