Look! Curved Solid Wood Flooring by Waldilla

Waldilla's unique flooring product follows the natural contours of the wood it's made from. A computer program shapes and assemble the planks, while innate characteristics such as knots and other imperfections are allowed to remain. The result is a wavy puzzle of a floor that may make you feel like you're in a funhouse or a fairy tale.

Lovely, but it looks like a nightmare to install.

Pretty, but not worth the extra expense and effort to create and install.

Oh my goodness, so pretty!! Might be a bit stressful to install though... if you mess up one piece what are you supposed to do? Do you have to send it back to the manufacturer to have an identical piece made, and meanwhile have to wait for the replacement before you can finish your floor? Hmmm... better leave it to professional installers.

I love this idea! However, I'm sure its gonna cost a fortune to assemble.

I would spend all my time trying to figure out whether I could have done it without the computer.

Verdict: Probably not, but it would be fun to try.

Boy, this gives new meaning to 'thinking outside the box'. I think it's inspired and beautiful, but I'm not even going to click on the manufacturer's link because I'm sure it must be crazy expensive. Nice to look at, though!

Soooo cool! Just one of those ideas that you want to kick yourself for not thinking of. We've all been so conditioned to think that hardwood floor are straight planks. This is really creative out-of-the-box thinking! LOVE!!!!

I like straight planks. :P These to me look like those expensive banana-leaf-waste chairs from IKEA... making mad money off waste (and it still looks cheap) lol.

does the 5th picture reflect the furniture, entertainment and grocery budget left over after installation?:)

seriously, this is really cool, but I agree with most that it must be prohibitively expensive. but then, a lot of things are.

(possibly wasteful too)
