Spark Fire's Six Foot Fire Ribbon

03.11.spark.jpg

You'll rarely find us chanting a mantra of "bigger is better". But, when it comes to Spark Fire's Ventfree Fireplaces, we were exhillirated by their Six Foot Fire Ribbon...

Spark Fire's 72" model, the Six Foot Fire Ribbon, is a long, narrow ribbon of fire that says "I am definitely no ordinary fireplace". A traditional fireplace could never acheive appropriate draw with this 17" high x 72" wide proportion. But the ventless, gas Fire Ribbon certainly can and it flaunts its stuff here. Such a statement comes at an equally big cost, though: $15,000. But then again, it's a 6-foot long fireplace complete without having to build a chimney and hearth.

For the MA readers they are legal in our state. Unfortunately, the price is very steep.

A restaurant I went to in Vegas called "love" at the Palm (highly recommend btw) had something like this along all their windows. In person these provide incredible ambiance.

$15,000 is a little steep for me at this moment (you know recession and all). Hopefully Make will feature a DIY version.
