Tipped off by Robin, we went and found this full on promo, Match Your Mood, from the distant past:
I know a few weeks ago you posted about a wallpapered fridge that was in Domino, i think...that concept lead me to this, which is hilariously stupid and worth watching. It's a promo about decorating your fridge, from 1968.
Everything comes around again, doesn't it? (Thanks, Robin!)

I never knew refrigerators could be the source of so much fun.
Thanks for linking to the clip-it's awesome.
Why did I feel like Adam West was going to pop out wiht a, , at any time?
A six and a half minute video on decorating your fridge? And a "silent" movie, to boot. I loved the woman doing the "go-go" as she was measuring cutting and pasting etc. Martha Stewart--Not!
That was fun and weird. Thanks.
That was supposed to say...
Why did I feel like Adam West was going to pop out with a ZAP, BLAM , POW at any time?
Is it weird that I really liked the fridge that looked sort of decoupaged with pictures of famous people in psychedelic colors?
I loved that! Interesting how they gendered decorating: men match their hobbies, women match their apparel. The Young Republican Discoteque was a hoot. And I always crack up when I see footage of a person wearing polyester, a synthetic hairpiece, and heavy foundation makeup taking a stroll and enjoying "nature."
Superfun video and love the different fridge looks.
The portrayal of the marketing-driven self-indulgence of the "me" generation is overpowering though.
Archie, I thought my heroes, Steed and Mrs. Peele were about to appear. The music sounded lilke the same soundtrack.
That totally made my day... thank you, thank you, thank you!
What a hoot!
I too stumbled across this link late last night in an old post at Malls Of America blogspot.
Even more bizarre is a 1969 Sears traing film link featuring Arte Johnson and Judy Carne in a bizarre take-off on Laugh In....called Freeze In.
Worth checking out...
there's something about this that vaguely reminded me of Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.
as opposed to Batman or the Avengers, i kept thinking that weird androgyne record producer was going to pop out and attack the gogo dancing women.
though i have to say, in addition to entertainment value, this video popped a really brilliant idea into my head: is it possible to starch fabric to your average boring white rental apartment fridge? you know, with that funny glossy pebble texture? i know it can be done on a wall, but walls are porous. because that would be the perfect way to customize your fridge in a way that could be easily reversed when you move out.
it would also be cool, if one owned one's fridge, to use one of the various design transfer methods. this video is actually way better than that recent Domino spread at unleashing fridge creativity...
