Spirit houses are an incredibly important part of Buddhist life in Thailand. They represent a home for passed on loved ones and are altars that are maintained daily with gifts of food and flowers. To make them into candleholders is just...well...tacky. It trivializes a sincere and loving gesture as kitsch. —IMO
