Works of art aren't displayed on these walls - they are the walls. An example is the Bates Masi project pictured up top. It's the slatted wood partition and beautiful wood-finished walls of the Re-Cover house.

This is the room from the April 2009 cover of Dwell. But what happened to the dining table? The furniture is different.

I love wood on walls - they're warm and inviting.

I'm a huge fan of architecture being considered art (because it once really was art, even in lower end homes). Sadly, today's architecture (for the average dwelling) is merely function and little form. A box with a few windows and walls with a big giant garage to greet your guests instead of a beautiful front door and a welcoming front porch as the main element.
Sigh.
