You mean, Cat and me, right?
I was thinking the same thing! :)
I don't think it matters, because this isn't a sentence. Either way is right.
Yeah, I thought I had it "cat and me", but I guess I was edited. :) Thanks for posting my pic.
Awww...
It is "me". I can't believe they edited you stupid! Cute, cute!
No it still "I" because the verb is a form of to be
it's a copula verb therefore the pronoun remains subject, not object
I don't think the cat cares.
Okay, I'm going to wade into the grammatical waters, as well. A simple way to tell if it is correct is to take out the item linked to the "I" or "me", and see if the sentence still sounds correct. "Me, behind her taking the picture", "I, behind her taking the picture". "Me, on our front porch", "I, on our front porch"... I think that, as children, we were all corrected so often about using "me" when we should have been using "I" that now, as adults, we change what really should be "me" to "I", thinking that it cannot be right if we've used "me".
I have now exhausted my daily supply of quotation marks, and I want to comment on the picture. This is a lovely depiction of "home" (oops, must have had two quotation marks left over!). Peaceful, serene -- the composition of the photo is just right, and the cat, of course, is the crowning element. Thanks for such a lovely image!
Maybe we should shift the thread to a discussion of animal behavior?
Like, is this cat really relaxing? Look at its positioning, looking out through the gaps in the railing. I think it's just waiting for something to present itself, so that it can spring into action and pounce.
Quite a bit different from human "relaxing."
Or maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the cat has its eyes closed.
in this case, since the title is a prepositional phrase and not a complete sentence, it is not possible to know which word is grammatically correct. if the complete sentence were "the passers-by waved to my cat and x on the front porch" then it would be correct to use "me". if the complete sentence were "my cat and x on the front porch waved to the passers-by", you'd use "I".
in titles, as in creative works in general, one gets a bit of leeway in this sort of thing. maybe there's a reason the artist used 'me' instead of 'i'. nobody said to Coleridge, "Hey, you misspelled 'rhyme' there..."
The Opoponax:
The author didn't use "I". The author used "me" and it was edited to "I". I think it's a touchy subject because we so often hear people using "I" or "myself" incorrectly in an attempt to sound educated.
No that cat's body language is definitely relaxed. But cats can switch from relaxed to stalking in a nanosecond.
you guys are retarded. grammar, cat position.....
really....
what about the beauty in the pic?
What is my cat doing on your porch?
Wow, so this is where all the unemployed editors and proof-readers hang out when theyre not working - ha ha ha!
Are you looking to get help with some colour (Im keen to help if you are keen to do the hardwork!) and some new vases? or whatever you call those big vases that go outside. Or did you just want to show off your kitty?
Id probably get some new ballustrades or railings too.
I think TTa just wanted to share some home joy.
This is all becoming so tiresome!
The picture is what was intended to be shown - the outdoors, the cat, the flowers etc. Not warrenting (or warranting) the usual stream of criticism.
