leave the gilding (or silver-leaf it instead), upholster in white or black patent leather, and have it be the only non-modern piece in a stripped down loft... totally WAY hot.

or lacquer the frame high gloss white (goodbye to any actual antique value with this suggestion) and upholster with a brilliant coral silk or leather, then pair with lucite cube tables... white hot, and very Palm Beach glam!
