I voted HOT! With a little tender love and care this could be a quint-shabby chic piece. However, $100 bucks? Don't know so much...I would pay a tad bit less...just because I'm a bargain hunter through and through.

It has possibilities if stripped refinished and new hardware, but I agree the price is too high.

The price depends on who the maker is, what kind of wood it is, and how it's made. If it's made out of a hardwood and by a decent old designer (like Thomasville or something of that sort) and the drawers are dovetailed and have no missing parts and open easily then I would say it's well worth it because for just a few bucks the whole thing could be painted and the handles could be replaced.

My grandmother had almost the same exact dresser. When my sister inherited it, she painted it and destroyed it forever. It looks like the same thing might have happened with this piece.
What is that color on the top??
Stripped and re-finished in a warm beige/gold would probably look very nice!

I think I'd paint it in a high gloss red or black and use it in a dining room for storage/a buffet. I'm thinking the room is black and red and has some gold and has an Asian feel. It would either be really striking or totally hideous, I'm not sure. There would be no in-between.
