In its way, I think this has CERTAIN kind of simplicity that might make it sort of a nice sparkly "brooch" (on) in a simple cleaned-lined modern (dress) dining room. It's a little unclear in the picture exactly how the metallic bits are that support it all (are they cheap brass? are they substantial-looking?), but basically I like it.

It's a qualified 'Hot' - replate the frame and hardware in a white metal, and I think it could be graceful in the right setting.

Recentlty, I've been yearning for a chandelier. Don't know wy. Won't go with anything I own. Buuuuuuut I would snap this one up in a second if I lived in nyc.

Not for me. Chandeliers are supposed to be baroque and glittery and a little chaotic. This one is too ordinary -- I'd just as soon put their wallpaper and drapes in my house.

i voted "hot" but honestly, i think it depends on the context- what the rest of the room looks like. it would be tricky to make it "hot" but it could happen.

That context thing seems to work for most of these items. I'll vote not on something and then someone will describe a setting and I'll think, "That'd be fab!" (or something like that). But in this case, hot. We're in a chandelier moment.
But in the flip side of context, I could see this in some overblown Russian restaurant in Brighton Beach and think, "I'm horrified".
