I think it could be VERY much fun in the right place, with the right stuff. I think that in a kid's room. Especially a rich toddler, as a great place for the parent to read to them.

Isn't that a high-80's interior faux-pas? Looks like it came off the set of that house Bette Midler and Danny DeVito were living in in "Ruthless People."

I will admit that I've had to live with that chair for years. Not in my own home, but here at Yahoo! where I work. It was one of the first pieces we got as a company to show off our irreverant nature for all things fun and it graced many a front lobby. The purple and yellow were our brand colours and sometimes you still pass one of them tucked away in a corner somewhere. Cosmopolitan Home I think in Philly made them. Ugh!

Not hot??? I think it could easily fit in with the FAB decorating we discussed last week. It is over the top, and that's not always bad.

I think it's fun in a very cartoon-y, almost over-the-top whimsical kind of way. Although in reference to Dee's comment, I can see how a purple & yellow version would be really hideous.
