"This is a home made replica of the Red and Blue chair by Gerrit Rietveld, although it is not upholstered, and it isn't supposed to be so anyway, it is actually very comfortable to sit plus a it is great conversation piece and visually and aesthetically stunning. I made two of these and they cost me more to make them than what I'm selling them for butI loved building a pair of these chairs and now I want to recoup my investment so I offer it for $70 each."

Kudos to the seller for full disclosure, as in the picture, this totally passes for the real (expensive) thing.
I think this is a great, affordable way to get some museum-caliber conversation piece in your home.
ps: This would be a great styling/set piece for a theatrical production or photo shoot...
I admire the stripped down simplicity but for some reason it reminds me of an electic chair.
This chair rocks and so does the De stijl house it was designed for in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Regardless of whether or not it speaks to you emotionally, any lover of *design* inc. cubism, modernism and Marimekko should love IT for it's 1920s cuttingedgeness and all the things it influenced!!
I've always liked this chair except for one thing: the colors. It's a nice bargain nonetheless.
