Love the lounge chair, but the upholstery on here just looks to be in awful shape. My parents have some ancient leather chairs and the fabric has held up infinitely better than this. These look like they need to be reupholstered, which makes the price unappealing. Maybe it is just the photography and these look better in person?

If they're down then this is a STEAL! If they're foam, the foam may have deteriorated a bit...

Wow, more people feel NOT than HOT over Herman Miller lounge chair. That was a surprise.

Well, when you get into the thousands, this cheapskate wants it to be new.

I usually like things in pairs, but this lounge has always been best to me as a solo performer, so the "apir" offering throws me a little.
Not sure why people think the upholstery not in good shape. Doesn't look that way to me.
Wish they shot the chairs so you could see the combo fo the white leatehr and the walnut frame.
I think these are big time winners. (normal caveat: in the right setting)

"apir" = "pair"
"fo" = "of"
"leatehr" = "leather"

It looked like 2 shots of one chair; I absolutely did not see the word pair in there until now. Actually, for a pair, it is kind of hot.

I'm surprised on that same hot/not issue. I think they're very pretty and the white is very rare.
Also agree on the "pair" issue. This should be THE standout piece in living room setting ( or any setting for that matter)

I've always wanted this colour combo. And yes I'd pay for it to have it.

It's HOT. I actually have a fake one that I bought from a thrift store for $300 - it's caramel and a little beat up. Is it worth get reupholstered?

hot in theory, not in terms of my own taste. i have to say the herman miller eames lounger is my all time most wanted piece of furniture ever. to the point that i'm considering starting a savings account and putting away a couple hundred a month until i have enough to buy one new. and i think the white leather is very hip.
but that's just it. white leather is so hot right now. this pair would look fab in one of those super modern loft style places, you know, the ones i always criticize for being too DWR-ish. but i don't know that i'd choose white leather for what will be such a long term investment for me -- i would have to completely rebuild my living room, and probably my entire apartment, around them. and then what happens in a few years when white leather is dated and passe?
i'd really only recommend someone buy it if they have the money to have it reupholstered when styles change, or if they are really and truly committed to white leather furniture.

Those are fantastic, but they look so sad in that room... they need to be in my place! From the pics, chances are they are the down filled ones, and it would be a sin to reupholster them just yet... they have at least another 30 years before the down is bustin' out.

I just don't find white leather hot when it's not pristine. It reminds me of all the dumpy "italian leather" sofas in mushroom + taupe that everyone had when I was a kid.

I think Mary makes a VERY good point about these. It seems that this pair of chairs lies somewhere between the retro-designer-resuscitated hipness thing and that over-scaled leather stuff that the cheap, big sofas sold by furniture stores in the hinterlands.
So, really, whoever ends up with this pair is going to make it look "hot" only if they surround it with a really wonderful context.

I agree with Curtis. Even though I called them "hot", I am viewing one chair in a funky but fashionable and low key decorated room.
