Hot or Not? Info or Not?

Angelic. This is such a funny question from Dee in Australia, that we couldn't resist submitting it to Hot or Not. Here is the pitch and the call for info on this chair:

Hi there! I just recently bought this chair and just had to share. Wanted to know what you guys thought of it?

All the info I have is that I purchased it a couple weeks ago in Mexico and had it flown to Sydney where I live. Never seen another like it anywhere in the world. The shop who sold it to me is called El Sofa 58 and their staff is incredible.

Sadly, the store has little in the way of info about who the designer was and anything other than the name "Angel Chair." Think you can identify anything about it?

Thanks, Dee

Looks comfy, in the way only 70s pads with mattresses strewn all over the floors did.

Being to Mexico a few times, I really like the furniture there. I like this piece will look good in right apt. Disagree with the 70's reference.

This is one of those complimentary discussion pieces where if placed in the right environment it is amazing, but left on its own merits it can fall flat. So sadly hot in a great space, not in a mediocre environment.

To me, it looks a lot like the Arne Jacobsens egg chair (antedating the 70s by decades), but far more laid back. A warm, subtropical reaction to Danish Modern? I love it anyway. An awesome chair. Cherish it.

Judging by the picture, the environment is a far cry from mediocre. I think the chair is cool, I mean, HOT.

Speaking of identifying furniture, this post gave me the idea to ask about a glass table I've been coveting that was on the cover of the last Time Out New York Home Design issue. Is anyone familiar with it? Designer, whether it's still made, etc.? It was a round glass table with what looked like a pedestal made of gathered and cinched iron rods (yet it's not the Noguchi hurricane table). Any clues would be appreciated.
Thanks!
