Check out this whimsical tea set from Jorine Oosterhoff — with footed bases and oversized lids, the service items take on personalities of their own (we're fond of the the Three Mad Hatters!). Made from porcelain that is only glazed on the interior. Tell us what you think, after the jump...

Three Mad Hatters — for chocolates, fruits & lemon slices.
Lady Marmalade — for marmalades & clotted cream.
Sugary Soldier and Milky Major — milk & sugar.
The collection includes additional whimsical pieces including platters, coffee and espresso service, teacups and a large tea urn. See them all at Jorine Oosterhoff. Via: notcot.org.
adorable!

1. the link to the artist's site is dead
2. these are great, but
3. a price tag of upwards of 250 bucks for one is NOT (what they go for at Rose and Radish)

the link works on my end...anyone else have issues with it?

Those are charming. They look like they could mischievously sneak off the table during tea...

I love them. They are so cute! I would buy them in a second... except I can't afford them. :(

I'm torn. They're creepy and cute all at the same time. But yeah, the price is a definite Not.

Link worked for me, too.
These are so cute cute cute. I would love to store my marmalade in one of these chubby sweeties. Sometimes it is nice to spend a heap of cash on something makes you smile.

Cute, but (as others have mentioned) far too expensive.

Very cute. Reminds me a bit of the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast (with the living plates and teapots).

I'd enjoy tea with someone who has them but wouldn't want to own them myself

I love these. I've seen this collection in person and they are great. There's a nice inside/outside play with matte versus shiny finishes.
The mismatched quality of the lids and the little legs are a riot. There's almost a mandate that you play with them.
Oosterhoff is an artist with the drive to bring an interesting idea to fruition, hence the price ( I can't afford them for my personal collection either ).

I'm not usually drawn to "whimsy", but I think I like these!

Kind of chubby baby legs, 3 of them, a dish for a body, and a really big lid. That's a mutation of some sort.

These so remind me of the scene in one of the Harry Potter books where the kids are learning a charm to make their teacups grow legs.
I like matte porcelain but it gets scuffed and marked so easily I wish the outsides were more finished.

These are so cute! If I hosted tea parties I would definitely save up for these. :D
