I love this bed. But It looks even better when there's a mattress on it.

It looks like an unsteady oversized carom board. Maybe it looks better with a mattress?

Love it, KarenH.

And it's hot, hot, hot. As is the rest of the thin edge series (wish it weren't so expensive to buy vintage).

i have contacts over at Herman Miller and have talked to them about bringing this bed back, as well as the Nelson CSS storage units. They have looked into bringing the CSS back, but i dont think they have an interested in any of the nelson daybeds or beds. :( I'd love to get my hands on a thin edge.

We have a version of this bedframe. It has the same leg architecture and a more substantial headboard. Our setup is awesome and sturdy and comfortable. Choose a thinner mattress to make the design 'sing' - definitely lullabies. We bought a McCroskey mattress to fit.

Please say a mattress goes on top of this "bed"? I have a feeling if George Nelson's name was taken off the description, there would have been many more negative comments posted about this bed. I love his work, but seriously? This looks like the most uncomfortable thing I've ever seen.

Thin edges mean painful bumps? This reminds me of the bed I had as child.

It looks like a converted Ping-Pong table, are these really selling?

This is just a bed frame. It is meant to be used with a mattress.

I would have to see what it looked like with a matress on it. I voted not because it looks like the whole concept will disappear when you put a mattress on it. If that thin little thing that's on top of it is supposed to be the mattress, then it looks like the most uncomfortable thing you could sleep on aside from a bed of nails.

I think it's a great looking bed frame. It reminds me a bit of the case study platform beds manufactured by Modernica, particularly the fastback which I also think is very nice looking. I like the contrast between the brushed metal legs & the wood used in the frame. It's elegant indeed.

Not a real bed for overweight Americans. I can imagine, one turn over in the middle of the night and the whole thing caves in -- yet alone any other 'adult' activity! (And yes, I am American and overweight).

Hot - it's a beautiful, sleek design, IMO. With a mattress just exactly the height of the head & foot boards, and lightweight, neutral linen, I think this would be just gorgeous. I suspect it's also more sturdy than it looks.

I think this bed is beautiful, gorgeous lines. But seriously, is this bed sturdy enough for activities such as....sex? Love it.

as mentioned, very similar to the new fastback case-study bed that modernica is making. and as mentioned, more sturdy than it looks...
