Say ahhhh. The Tooth Stool by Philippe Starck is a giant tooth-shapes stool. We gotta say, the polypropylene molar's not pretty. But maybe you have just the perfect place for it in your home...

So, what do you say?
Sometimes I think you do this just to eff with us.

Looks like there should be a pile of toothfairy cash underneath it. If there is, I'll take it!

The dentist I went to as a kid had stools like these (just white, not metallic finish) in the waiting room. They were the "cool stools" and we'd all wish we could sit on them before getting our teeth cleaned. Not sure I'd want one now... but ask any 6-yr-old in a dentist office....

I, too remember a white tooth stool at my old dentist's office when I was a kid. I don't hate these Starck chairs only because they remind me of those memories when the little things were so cool!

I dislike this stool very much, especially as a reference to teeth.
But since Phillipe Starck has been the greatest thing since sliced bread to me since I was about 15, I'll ignore the theme and pretend it's an organically-shaped stool he created as an alternative to those awful painted tree stumps everyone's pushing nowadays.
And now... I LOVE it.

Wait...Silvarga, are you just being sarcastic, or have you never seen the saint-esprit stool

a bit too camp/pop art for my tastes, but I suppose in the right space....

Doug - Funny you said that. Somedays I see things like this and I think (hope) that Max & Company are giggling as they post the item and saying to themselves "oh this'll really mess with them!!".

Starck proves to be over rated and now irrelevant. This chair is a joke.

I Love Upstate, I agree. If I can guess with about 95% accuracy what the prevailing sentiment will be, I've got to believe the powers at be must be enjoying themselves. (Which isn't a bad thing.)
BTW, I've recently checked out your blog and think you have a lovely home.

What do you guys think about this stool I just bought from GH DESIGN: http://gh-design.net/gh_go_004.html
Is it anywhere near as cool as the starck?

I had braces, a palate widener, and jaw surgery as a teenager. Then in college, a week of not wearing my retainers duing a bronchitis bout allowed my teeth to move so much that the retainers no longer fit, and the teeth kept on truckin' right out of line. Hence, a year of Invisalign ten years later to prepare my mouth for another surgery to correct problems caused by so much orthodontic work. Needless to say, I HATE anything that unnecessarily calls teeth to my attention.

Starck gets an extra point for daring to be fun.
