I need a middle answer. I did vote hot because it's not god-awful, but they should be better. I am curious if these are one of those things that looks a lot nicer in person actually. A lot of things ostensibly are, so I was kind (for once!)

I'm actually quite fond of these (well, the one on the right anyway). It's a nice accent that I'd not thought of before. Were I remodeling and had extra cash to throw around, I'd definitely consider them.

These are not hot... but a quick search will find plenty of examples where wood is more skillfully integrated into the design. Try Finesse Fittings or Salice Paolo.
